Hot on the heels of the debut full-length release from False Idle comes their first acoustic effort, a 7 song EP entitled "California Or Bust". This latest recording is a more transparent, stripped-down release that re-vamps a strong collection of their favorite tracks from the recent powerful full-length, "Threat", and the earlier the "I Refuse" EP. Houston's Kings & Daughters has officially inked a distribution deal with California hardcore label OnTheAttack Records. The band will release their debut EP entitled "THE LION" for FREE on December 4th Nationwide, which will be hosted by HM Magazine. OnTheAttack Records will press and release a limited amount of physical CD copies of the EP which will be available November 4th, when Kings & Daughters plays their first show alongside For The Fallen Dreams in their hometown of Houston, Texas. Tuesday, October 1, the GRAMMY-nominated and Dove Award winning band The Choir is launching a month-long Kickstarter campaign to fund their upcoming 15th studio release along with a brand new live album. Partnering with Livestream, The Choir will broadcast a free online acoustic concert tomorrow evening from 8-9pm CST to celebrate the upcoming album releases. The members of The Choir - comprised of Steve Hindalong, Derri Daugherty, Tim Chandler, and Dan Michaels - are thrilled to be recording new music and continuing their musical journey after many years together. "Music is a journey for us," shares Daugherty. "It's this path that we've been going down, and as we've traveled it more and more over the years through the release of our independent albums, tours and being connected through social media, we've realized that not only is it a journey for us but that it's a journey for our audience too. They have truly become part of our story." Click here to find out more about this campaign with a video interview featuring Daugherty and Hindalong. Continuing their tradition of creating a weekend experience built around the release of new albums, an exclusive group of Choir supporters will have the opportunity to attend the recording for the live album on March 1 of next year in Nashville. In addition to securing Gold Circle seating, these fans will be part of the closed rehearsal that day, dinner with The Choir and spend the following day sharing private excursions around the city. Daugherty continues, "By working in partnership with our listeners, we believe we will have the ability to spend more time in the studio to craft songs, create and experiment. We think by doing that we're going to inspire ourselves and from that inspiration we're going to make music that will inspire others. We feel like at this point we can make one of the best records we've ever done." The Choir’s Kickstarter campaign officially launches at midnight tonight. From: Christian Post BY CHRISTINE THOMASOS, CHRISTIAN POST REPORTER September 22, 2013|11:46 am Ja Rule, the 37-year-old rapper who was born Jeffrey Atkins, is speaking up about how a two year prison sentence strengthened his relationship with God. Atkins was released from an upstate New York prison earlier this year after being charged with tax evasion in 2011. Still, the rapper is reflective and recently spoke about how the experience shaped him. "It's been real crazy. Real reflective. You go through something like that…it changes you a little bit," Rule told New York City's Hot 97 radio show host Angie Martinez recently. "You get a chance to really to be at one with yourself. A lot of late nights, by myself." A lot of those nights were spent reading the bible, according to the rapper. "When I went to jail, I read the whole Bible," Atkins told Martinez. He also spoke about needing to let go of some repressed feelings. "I feel like unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment, it blocks the flows of God's blessings in life," he said on the Hot 97 radio show. "So, you know, I'm really in a good head space. I really want to just do what I'm doing and not focus on nothing negative at all." As a testament to his strengthened faith, the rapper said he made a few changes. "Right now I'm on my God flow, you know what I mean?" he told Martinez. "I got Job 1:21 tattooed on my chest." The scripture states, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised (NIV)." Now, Atkins is gearing up to star in the movie "I'm In Love With A Church Girl," which is scheduled to debut in theaters Oct. 18. The movie is based off of the life of Pastor Galley Molina, who led a life of drug trafficking before he decided to become a preacher. Before Atkins went to prison, Molina told The Christian Post that the rapper had been reading his bible. "Ja Rule has been ministered to. He's a dear friend," Molina previously told CP. "We've been praying for him a lot. He's been open; he's been so [receptive] to the word." FREE HIP HOP DOWNLOADS-----> HERE
